I am thrilled to share that Bishop Sandra Fyfe has appointed me as the next Rector for the Anglican Church of the Apostles in Halifax, with my ministry beginning on 1 March 2026.

Emily and I are incredibly excited to join this warm and inviting family in Halifax's West End. After 25 years of ministry in Newfoundland—serving as a Curate and Rector, a Mission Dean, and as Director of Queen's College's Discipleship and Ministry Program—I am eager to get back to my roots: hands-on ministry in a local neighbourhood.

The Church of the Apostles is a community that represents the successful amalgamation of two historic parishes, St. Matthias and St. Philips, creating a financially stable foundation for future growth. The parish is deeply committed to being a visible and accessible presence in the West End of Halifax, and it's a wonderful neighborhood to be present in!

Perhaps what's most exciting is the Apostles' balance between tradition and innovation, that matches my own approach. Part of what makes them such a success is that they've spent fifteen years intentionally making space for as broad a diversity as possible, which is certainly an Anglican virtue.

On a personal note, we can’t wait to settle into the West End and give our daughter a fixed address again. She's already looking forward to seeing the Rectory so she can call dibs on her choice of bedroom when she comes home from Mount Allison!

I am looking forward to joining this dynamic parish of Christ’s disciples as we seek to explore God’s dream for Halifax and beyond.

Please keep us and the people of the Apostles in your prayers during this time of transition.
